Accelerated Corrosion of Adhesively Bonded 7075 Aluminum Using Wedge Crack Specimens.

Abstract

Accelerated corrosion of 7075 aluminum using the equal thickness adherend wedge test did not find flaws on the anodic oxide surface through the use of scotch tape contamination. It is apparent that the strength of the adhesive-oxide interface has to be much less than the center of the bond line in order for the wedge test to find the weakness. (Author)
