The Operational Feasibility of the Leadership Evaluation and Analysis Program (LEAP)

Abstract

The Leadership Evaluation and Analysis Program (LEAP), a self-applied leadership/organizational development program, was evaluated for operational feasibility. Thirteen Marine Corps company level commands implemented the program to determine if command administered data were valid and interpretable by commanding officers, and if results warranted further application on a voluntary basis. The consensus of participant commanders was favorable, indicating that the LEAP is a viable and effective leadership aid. Several corollary benefits derived from LEAP data were discussed, and future program developments were outlined.
