Reliability and Maintainability Data-Feedback Systems

Abstract

This report describes a study of maintenance data systems presently being used by the Navy, other military branches, and manufacturers, and recommends data-elements for collection in an improved Navy system. The Navy data-collection systems reviewed included both expiring and continuing systems. Data elements required for shipyard collection have been integrated with those recommended by the NAVLOGSIP sub-working group. Minimum data-collection requirements were established for the three phases of an equipment's life CYCLE: research and development, design and preproduction, and operation.
