Adaptation of a Provisioning Model for General-Purpose Use by the Aviation Supply Office.

Abstract

A spares-optimization provisioning model was developed by ARINC Research Corporation for use by the Aviation Supply Office. Given provisioning data for a specific entity such as an aircraft, this model provides the methodology for obtaining an optimum inventory for the entity by using the Poisson distribution. ARINC Research also provided the capability for restructuring Aviation Supply Office data to a format suitable for input to the model. (Author)
