Inflatable Liferaft Tests in the Pacific Ocean off the Columbia River Bar.

Abstract

This report presents the results of various exercises with inflatable liferafts having large water ballast systems for improved stability. The exercises were conducted in the Pacific Ocean near the Columbia River Bar. The report describes the exercises in detail and analyzes the results. The investigation described is one of a planned series of investigations into the characteristics of inflatable liferafts in heavy winds and high seas. (Author)
