Comparative Evaluation of Concepts for Modular Tentage

Abstract

This report was prepared to provide a procedure for evaluating the usefulness of various tentage concepts to the Army. Four concepts with different structural designs and components are studied. Important characteristics of tentage for Army use are identified and an evaluation scheme based on operational and logistical priorities is used to determine the best type of structure for the assumed priority list. Recommendations are made to develop prototypes, collect field data from use of prototypes, determine field priorities through use of a questionnaire, and to use the evaluation scheme presented in this report to determine a new family of modular tentage for the Army.
