Frequency Domain Stability in Single and Multi-Dimensional Systems,

Abstract

This report summarizes research into stability theory for single and multi-dimensional systems using frequency domain techniques. Specific items deal with the Nyquist test for multi-dimensional digital filters, spectral factorization for multi-dimensional digital filters, Half-plane filters, an algebraic-topological derivation of the classical Nyquist criterion, and a Continuation Algorithm for implementing the multivariable Nyquist criterion.
