Graphic Display Interaction. Part II. Information Structure and Basic Functions.

Abstract

This report discusses the interaction with a computer graphic display in terms of adding, erasing and manipulating symbols that represent pieces of information and the links between them. A model is presented of information organization based on symbolic representation of items and attributes. An analysis of types of interaction tasks produced a set of basic graphic functions to be used as a basis for comparing computer data entry devices for graphical interaction. (Author)
