Inherent Errors in Asynchronous Digital Flight Controls.

Abstract

This report describes research on redundancy management in digital flight control systems. The emphasis is on the properties, techniques, and requirements associated with the operations of monitoring and voting and their effects on the closed loop system operation when asynchronous sampling is used. Part I is concerned primarily with the monitoring operation for quadredundant input signals. Part II presents three extensions to a previously reported model for closed loop flight control systems that have dual-redundant, asynchronous digital controllers.
