Stratcom VI-A UV Flux and 30-65 KM Low-Background Betasonde Air Density Measurements.

Abstract

By use of a modified version of the CIAP UV Spectrophotometer, the altitude variation of 200-400 nm flux has been measured up to about 126 kft. Solar cycle associated variability of the flux in the important 220 nm region is discussed. Results are also given for direct measurement of air density in the 30-65 km region.
