Abstract

Cutaneous leishmaniasis and its effect on the military is discussed. This disease has long been known to be endemic to the Panama Canal Zone, and similarly, the disease is endemic in Brazil and in other Central and South American countries. Outlines of studies of leishmaniasis at Ft. Bragg, immunofluorescent antibody studies, culture techniques in laboratory diagnoses, and therapuetic studies on leishmaniasis using Pentostam are included. (Author)
