MANOVA Multiple Comparisons Associated with Finite Intersection Tests.

Abstract

A finite intersection procedure consists of simultaneous tests based upon the variatewise finite decomposition of the MANOVA hypothesis (as in the step-down tests), which is also contrastwise finite. This procedure is stepwise in nature and involves, at each stage, univariate contrastwise finite tests. In this paper the associated method for the multiple comparisons of the means is developed and illustrated.
