Development of Conduit Design Analytical Procedure.

Abstract

This report presents proposed models for analysis of the electromagnetic pulse (EMP) signals in conduit shielded circuits. The models are intended for use in an analytical procedure for evaluating conduit system designs currently being developed. The development of preliminary models for calculating (1) EMP penetration in solid conduit, (2) EMP leakage through defects, and (3) the effect of circuit impedances on EMP induced signals is presented. EMP properties and conduit physical properties important to the conduits shielding characteristics are examined. Both time domain and frequency domain analyses are presented. (Author)
