The Photodissociation of Tetramethyldioxetane.

Abstract

Tetramethyldioxetane was excited with a single 10 psec pulse at 264 nm. The resulting acetone fluorescence was observed and the rise time was found to be less than 10 psec. A mechanism accounting for this and previous experimental evidence is proposed. (Author)
