Algorithms and Hardware Technology for Image Recognition

Abstract

Algorithms for detecting and classifying targets on forward-looking infrared (FLIR) imagery have been developed. The implementability of these algorithms in charge-coupled device (CCD) technology has been investigated, and one basic function, sorting, has been successfully implemented. The recommended algorithms had a detection rate above 95% and a false alarm rate of 1 to 2 per frame. (Author)
