The Boundary Integral Equation Method for the Numerical Solution of Boundary Value Problems Governed by Second Order Elliptic Equations.

Abstract

A new, general, boundary-integral-equation procedure for the numerical solution of boundary value problems governed by second order elliptic equations is implemented. Boundary geometry and dependent variables are approximated by means of quadratic shape functions. The procedure is applied to plane problems of anisotropic heat conduction and anisotropic elasticity. Comparisons between exact and numerical solutions are given. (Author)
