End Wall and Corner Flow Improvements of the Rectangular Alperin Jet-Diffuser Ejector.

Abstract

A generalized ring vortex system was utilized to determine the pressure distributions and streamline shapes within a three-dimensional jet-diffuser ejector. Experiments verified the utility of the method and resulted in a measured performance exceeding that of the original STAMP (Small Tactical Aerial Mobility Platform) Ejector, while avoiding the use of the large, protruding end plates required by that ejector. Ground effect tests on the new design showed improved performance compared to similar tests on the STAMP Ejector over the entire range of ground clearances. (Author)
