Infrared Source to Simulate Earth-Limb Background

Abstract

This report describes the preliminary design and check out of an earth-limb simulator. The actual simulator will operate in a temperature range from 40 K to 100 K for an altitude range of 60 to 115 km. In order to check the design, temperatures were uniformly elevated for the preliminary testing.
