On the Optimal Stock Levels in a Multi-Echelon Maintenance System

Abstract

This paper develops bounds on the optimal stock levels in multi- echelon maintenance systems. These bounds can be used to find the optimal stock in multi-echelon systems such as METRIC and AMMIP. The use of the bounds in constrained multi-echelon problems is also demonstrated. An algorithm and computer code are presented.
