Strapped Multifilar Helix TWT Study.

Abstract

The goal of this program was to determine the feasibility of using strapped multifilar helices in traveling wave tubes at higher operating voltages and power levels than was possible with existing helix-type tubes. Several cold test circuits were fabricated and tested by comparison with conventional helix and ring-loop circuits. None of the circuits was found to be satisfactory for inclusion in an operating tube, therefore this phase of the effort was terminated. (Author)
