Ligand and Solvent Effects on Emission Lifetimes of Cr(III) Ammines.

Abstract

Emission lifetimes and their temperature dependence are reported for a number of CR(III) ammine complexes. A new set of rules governing emission from room temperature, fluid solution is proposed. A rationale for the rules is that thermal-type photosubstitution occurs from the First thexi doublet state and that the rate controls the lifetime. (Author)
