Recommendations for Concrete Forming Kit for Theater of Operations Applications.
Abstract
This study recommends components to be included in a kit for concrete forming to be used in Theater of Operations construction. The kit will provide versatile materials and equipment for rapid construction of concrete formwork. Appropriate components are recommended for inclusion in the kit based on efficiency, cost, versatility, logistics, simplicity, and erection time. Specific recommendations are made for concrete form-fastening systems; rebar cutting, bending, support, tying, and splicing; curing compounds; form release agents; and air-entraining agents. The report provides a brief background and description of the rationale used to choose the components, as well as literature describing the items comprising the kit. (Author)
