Synthesis of Rationally Designed Organic Compounds for Malaria Chemotherapy Studies.

Abstract

During the present report period, 20 compound (targets and intermediates) of the following categories have been synthesized, characterized, and submitted for antimalarial evaluation: (a) deazafedbrifugine, (b) 1,5-naphthyridines, and (c) 8-aminoquinolines. WR-235202 exhibited good antimalarial activity against Plasmodium berghei. (Author)
