Acoustic and Geophysical Survey of Bottom and Sub-Bottom Reflection Loss, Area A. Part II.

Abstract

On all of the bottom and sub-bottom reflectivity graphs, the ordinate scale is reflectivity. In this case it is synonymous with bottom reflection loss. A reflectivity of 5 db on these graphs means that there is a bottom reflection loss of 5 db. Increase in reflectivity means decrease in bottom loss. On these same graphs the abscissa scale is grazing angle. An angle of 90 deg is normal incidence and angle of 0 deg is grazing incidence. On the theoretical derivations the complement of this angle is used.
