Direct Utilization of Crude Oil as Fuel In The U.S. Army 6V53T Diesel Engine.

Abstract

Performance data were obtained for several crude oils used as fuel in the U.S. Army 6V53T engine. A crude oil containing 1.7w% sulfur was steady-state endurance tested for 166 hours at which time the test was stopped due to a significant power decreased which was caused by a burnt exhaust valve.
