Turbulence Effects.

Abstract

The question has been raised as to whether or not turbulent effects will give rise to fluctuations in signal amplitude; if these fluctuations are of sufficient magnitude to significantly affect the results; how the data obtained should be displayed considering both the interest in basic bottom loss data and the applicability of the results to fleet bottom bounce Sonars; and, finally, the extent to which turbulence should be investigated in this or other programs, and how, in order to resolve this problem.
