Shallow Charge Errors.

Abstract

The statement was made that when using shallow charges (18 inches below the surface), the surface blows out causing the bubble pulse and surface reflection to be absent. This statement is correct insofar as the bubble pulse is concerned, but, is incorrect with regard to the shock wave. The physics which describes the process resulting in blowout is quite complex and partial explained.
