Bottom Reflection Coefficient.
Abstract
The back scattering and reflection from a boundary, although often included in the attenuation coefficient as loss per unit distance, are much better included as a coefficient of loss per reflection. In the present study only one bottom reflection is of interest so that the inclusion of this as a constant loss in the formula is more realistic and allows the separation of the bottom loss which is the essential reason for the MGS Survey.
