A Note on the Hadamard Criterion for an Incompressible Isotropic Elastic Material.

Abstract

It is demonstrated that material inequalities, which are necessary and sufficient to give real speeds for waves that propagate in principal planes, are not sufficient to give real speeds for propagation in an arbitrary direction. (Author)
