Reference Radiographs for Heavy Aluminum Castings.
Abstract
Two sets of standard reference radiographs were made from aluminum sand castings containing various types and degrees of internal flaws for use in controlling quality of aluminum castings 1 to 3 inches thick. The two sets were developed from master standards covering the thickness ranges 1 to 2 inches and 2 to 3 inches. Each set contains five grades of flaws commonly experienced in aluminum castings.
