Wideband Digital Disk Recording Techniques Program.
Abstract
A breadboard model Electron Beam Recorder on SiO2 storage targets was fabricated and evaluated under this program. The breadboard device in a drum configuration was used to make measurements of the frequency response of the electron gun and the electron beam in both read and write modes of operation. After completion of these measurements, the drum containing seven storage targets was installed and measurements of storage medium reciprocity and output signal to noise ratio (SNR) were made.
