Manpower Implications in the Design of Air Force Equipment.

Abstract

A research program is described which addressed the problems of influencing engineering design to result in a more effective incorporation of operating and support cost variables. The problems identified include those of the general lack of design education in the preparation of engineers, especially design education involving maintenance and support costs as a variable. Suggestions are made for changing design procedures and for further research. (Author)
