Geometrical Properties of Bombing Patterns.

Abstract

The major concern of this paper is the unsolved problem of estimating the expected perimeter in images generated by bombing models. Convex bombs are considered under certain orientation constraints, and a general method of perimeter estimation is presented which is exact for the Euclidian plane case but provides only an approximate solution for patterns on a grid. The expected area covered by bombs is also estimated. Corresponding results for multicolored patterns are given. Experimental results for binary patterns are provided. (Author)
