Microprocessor Requirements for Implementing Modern Control Logic.

Abstract

The objective of this Phase I first-year study in a proposed two-phase two-year program is to establish microprocessor requirements for implementing linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) feedback control logic. These requirements include (1) accuracy, (2) computational capability, including speed and architecture, (3) memory, and (4) interface requirements. The effect on these requirements of various system representations (standard, Jordan canonical, and companion forms) within the LQG control logic is being investigated. The linear system model employed in the study is general in nature. The results will therefore be applicable to a wide range of control problems with which the Air Force and other military services are concerned. (Author)
