Internal Pressure from Explosions in Suppressive Structures

Abstract

This report contains a documentation of the blast environment in closed and partially closed cubicles. Tests were conducted using two charge weights (0.5 and 1.0 pound) and eight structures, each with different venting characteristics. Effective vent areas were determined from comparisons of the duration of the quasi-static pressure with those of known vent areas with similar charge to structure volume ratios.
