Report of the 1976 Microbiological Data Collection Program.

Abstract

The results obtained from the microbiological analyses of food items (with the exception of fresh dairy products) are tabulated for 1976. The analyses were performed by official Department of Defense medical laboratories. This tabulation was performed by use of computer programs designed by the Department of Information Sciences, Letterman Army Institute of Research (LAIR) utilizing in-house and the Lawrence Berkeley Livermore computer facilities. Food hygiene Division, LAIR, is the operating element. The addition of the 1976 data makes a total of five years of data tabulated. This data base is invaluable in evaluating the microbiological quality of food items and in the establishment of realistic food microbiological standards. (Author)
