Instructional Systems Design: the Navair/Navtraequipcen Model

Abstract

This report presents a nontechnical description of the Instruction Systems Development (ISD) model currently in use throughout Naval aviation. A brief review is also given of the historical antecedents and evolutionary development of the NAVAIR/NAVTRAEQUIPCEN model by the ISD group at the Naval Training Equipment Center, Orlando, FL. The model provides standardized procedures and decision strategies for carrying out the analysis, design, development, implementation, and quality control of large-scale training programs for NAVTRAEQUIPCEN model and may be applied in the development of training programs for either existing weapons systems or newly emerging weapons systems.
