Laboratory Use of the Acoustic Valve Leak Detector and the Steam Valve Leak Detector on Steam Traps,

Abstract

An investigation was made of the feasibility of using the Acoustic or the Steam Valve Leak Detectors to detect steam traps malfunctioning by allowing live steam to escape. Results are presented supporting the conclusion that the use of either instrument is feasible. Recommendations were made for further investigation and specific development. (Author)
