Nondestructive Failure Prediction in Ceramics.

Abstract

Techniques for nondestructive failure prediction in ceramics are examined in the context of a probabilistic framework for obtaining failure and rejection probabilities. The ultrasoinc method appears to have the greatest short-term potential for achieving acceptable failure probabilities, without the excessive rejection of satisfactory components. (Author)
