The Aerodynamic Design of a Rocket Test Vehicle for Phase 2 of the AFSTAMS Task.

Abstract

Phase 2 of the AFSTAMS task required the practical demonstration of the falling sphere method of wind determination using a rigid 120 mm diameter passive sphere. This report describes the aerodynamic design of the free flight rocket test vehicle used to carry this sphere to approximately 20 km altitude. (Author)
