A Statistical Study of NOAP Data.

Abstract

This thesis examines spectrometric oil analysis data in an attempt to determine which of various sources can affect the spectrometer read-out. The analysis of variance is used to a large extent in the study made of operational data. In order to satisfy the normality and independence assumptions of ANOVA, results obtained in a previous study on the same type of data have been used. Some transformations of the data have been made so that the third assumption, homogeneity of variance, can be more nearly satisfied.
