Minimum Nonpropagation Distance of Open Rubber Buckets Containing, Explosive Composition A5
Abstract
A series of tests were conducted to establish the minimum nonpropagation distance between adjacent rubber buckets containing 4.5 kilograms (10 lb) of Composition A5 suspended from a simulated conveyor within an enclosed tunnel. This effort was in direct support of the modernization of the Milan Army Ammunition Plant, Tennessee, but it is also applicable to other similar facilities. The test results indicate that the minimum nonpropagation distance is 1.83 metres (6 ft). (Author)
