Portable Test Range and its Application to Side-Looking Sonar.

Abstract

This document describes a one-year effort to develop techniques by which underwater search sensors can be quantitatively evaluated in actual ocean environments. Side-looking Sonar (SLS), being the primary means of underwater search, was the focus of this effort. However, many of the methods developed can be applied directly to evaluation of other types of search sensors. (Author)
