Laboratory Evaluation of Narrow Fabrics Woven on Shuttleless Looms

Abstract

The objective of this task was to determine the relative mechanical properties of comparable webbings woven on shuttleless looms and shuttle looms. The tensile properties, lateral curvature, abrasion resistance and high speed impact properties of comparable narrow fabrics woven on shuttleless and shuttle looms were determined. It is demonstrated that shuttleless webbings compare favorably to shuttle webbings in all properties measured.
