Summary of the Mighty Epic Tracer-Gas Chimney Pressurization Studies.

Abstract

Two tracer-gas pressurization studies were conducted in the Mighty Epic chimney. The objectives of these tests were to evaluate gas flow within the chimney and to measure the flow from the chimney through the surrounding material to the mesa or tunnel complex. The relative gas permeability and accessible gas-filled void volume of the chimney material was estimated from this data. This report describes the test procedures, test results, and chimney material properties as inferred from the test data.
