A Comparison of Methods of Underwater Weighing.

Abstract

Since the early 1940's researchers have presented many methods of underwater weighing for determining body density and per cent body fat. The 'standard' procedure for underwater weighing - the method most often used by researchers - has several disadvantages which will be discussed. An alternate method has been proposedd which may have some advantages over the standard method. The purpose of this study was to determine if any difference exists between the results obtained by two variations of the standard method and those obtained by the proposed method of underwater weighing.
