Integrated Disbursing and Accounting (IDA), its Development and Implementation.

Abstract

This thesis describes the development and implementation of the Department of the Navy's Integrated Accounting and Disbursing (IDA) system. The pre-IDA accounting and disbursing systems are presented and their shortcomings are identified. The progress of IDA is traced from its conceptual foundation through the detail design stage. Various forces which significantly influenced the final design have been identified. Overall IDA implementation to date is examined along with a detailed view of implementation efforts in the San Diego area. (Author)
