Laser Beam Propagation in Particulate Media,

Abstract

A theory for small angle multiple scattering of a laser beam by aerosols is presented. Unlike in previous studies, the present formulation yields exact results with which the scattered radiance can be computed to any desired order of multiple scattering. Numerical results based on the exact theory are compared with those derived from an approximate theory currently in use. (Author)
