Knowledge-Based Machine Translation.

Abstract

This paper discusses knowledge-based machine translation research at Yale University Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. Our paradigm, illustrated by several working computer programs, is to analyze the source text into a language-free representation, apply world knowledge to infer information implicit in the input text, and generate the translation in various target languages.
