Airborne Fiber Optics Manufacturing Technology. Aircraft Installation Processes.

Abstract

Manufacturing processes are being developed for installation of optical fiber harnesses and 'stand alone' links on military aircraft. Fabrication and installation plans and procedures are being developed and a routing analysis is being performed to provide a basis for installation of fiber optics in military aircraft. a life cycle cost analysis of the optical fiber harness indicates apparent economic advantages.
